Day  14 |  Matthew 11:28-30
Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Have you ever felt tired? Maybe you’re working long hours, dealing with a long commute, or struggling with health issues for yourself or a loved one. Many things can contribute to a laborious life and a feeling of needing rest.

Notice that in Jesus’ answer, He says, "COME TO ME." Not "go follow the rules." Not "try harder." COME TO JESUS. Person to Person. Heart to Heart.

A yoke back then was an instrument of WORK… two animals harnessed together to pull a load. But Jesus reframes it: His yoke FITS WELL, and He shares the weight. He doesn't drop the burden on you and walk away. He pulls it ALONGSIDE you.

"I am gentle and lowly in heart." Can you imagine? The King of the Universe doesn't DEMAND. He INVITES. He doesn't scold. He OFFERS. He doesn't crush the weary. He LIFTS them.

Everyone has experienced heavy burdens, including work stress, family disappointment, loss, health worries, financial struggles, and insomnia caused by racing thoughts.

Here's what I've realized: resting in Christ isn't about doing nothing. It's about aligning with Him. Walking with Jesus doesn't necessarily make life easier, but it makes it lighter because He bears most of the burden.

Whatever's weighing on you right now, bring it to Jesus. Literally pray it out. "Lord, I'm tired. I need rest." He won't scold you. He'll welcome you. I often pray that way, and He has never failed me.

Quote: "The heart of Christ is not only the heart of a king but also the heart of a friend."

Prayer: Jesus, I come to You, weary and burdened. Lift my burdens. Teach me to walk under Your yoke and grant me Your rest. Amen.
