Day 11 | THY KINGDOM COME
THY KINGDOM COME

Matthew 6:10
“Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
 (KJV)

After addressing our prayer to our Heavenly Father and lifting His name high, we should then focus our prayers on God’s will being done on earth. We need to pray for God’s purposes, plans, and glory.

Jesus Himself – later in His time on earth – set the ultimate example when, faced with the bitter cup of bearing the sins of the world and dying for them, He said: “Not as I will, but as You will.” Jesus voluntarily surrendered His will to the will of the Father in all things, providing an example for us who are His followers.

Being Born Again isn’t just a one-time prayer with nothing else. It’s the beginning... but then gradually, day by day, we are transformed into the likeness of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Part of that process involves learning to pray “Thy will be done” for our lives, the lives of our family members, our nation, and the world.

Think about how AMAZING it would be if all 8 billion people on earth lived according to God's will. I know that’s a lot to imagine. As I’ve said before, if everyone followed God’s Ten Commandments, we wouldn’t need armies, police, or jails. We would all be living in harmony with God’s will here on earth. And think about the love, joy, peace, and more that exist in heaven! Wouldn’t that be wonderful on earth?

Sadly, Satan has effectively provided a sinful alternative, which is why we see all the drama, crime, and bad things happening every hour of every day.

Nonetheless, we are to pray, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Prayer: LORD, please bring Your Kingdom to earth soon! Amen.
