Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23 is, IMHO, the MOST familiar, popular, and comforting Scripture in the Bible. I’ve quoted this psalm countless times at memorial services, to people in the hospital, to those who had just lost a loved one, and to people who were dying. I’ve read it to Christians and to people with no faith, and I am in awe of how it has touched people wherever they are in life.
And you, dear reader, is the LORD your Shepherd? Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you ready for ETERNITY? I do hope you will be with us all in Heaven for eternity! It’s going to be amazing and FOREVER!
Prayer: LORD, I’m praying today for every person reading these devotionals, asking for Your Holy Spirit to comfort them about their salvation or to convict them of their need for Your Saving Grace. Amen.
