Day  26 |  1 Peter 5:7
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you."

Worry is UNIVERSAL… it’s part of being human, and nobody is immune. CEOs, pastors, parents, students, children, and retirees all deal with it to some degree. Peter doesn't minimize it; he acknowledges its WEIGHT through the word “CAST,” which suggests deliberately THROWING something heavy away from yourself.

The Greek word points to a DECISIVE action. Not gently setting your worries on a shelf, but HURLING them onto God, like a fisherman casting a net… with FORCE and INTENTION.

The motivation is tender: "for He CARES about you." Read that again. The Creator of the Universe – the One who numbers the stars – personally CARES about YOUR fears, YOUR finances, and YOUR health. He isn't indifferent or distracted; He CARES.

Here's something interesting: this verse continues the sentence from verse 6… "humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God... cast all your worries to God." Did you catch that? HUMILITY and CASTING go hand in hand! Pride says, "I can handle it myself." Humility says, "Lord, would You please handle this?"

We’ve all struggled with anxiety or worry, and pastors are no exception. There have been nights when something on my mind kept me from sleeping well. But here's what I've learned: when I try to carry what was DESIGNED for God's shoulders, I don’t do well. When I CAST it on Him, I discover God, my Heavenly Father, whose strength never FAILS.

So HOW do you cast it? You PRAY to your Heavenly Father, tell Him what you fear, and say it out loud. Then LEAVE it with Him. That’s the hardest part, isn't it? We pray, then pick the burden right back up the next morning. (Guilty!)

Today, try something different. Cast it. And don't pick it back up.

Quote: "Our anxieties are the result of trying to carry tomorrow's burdens with today's grace."
— Corrie ten Boom

Prayer: Father, I CAST every anxiety onto Your capable shoulders, trusting that You care deeply for me. Replace my worry with Your PEACE. Amen.
