40 Scriptures to Shape Your Faith

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!"
Currently, stillness runs against modern culture. Consider this: our society links PRODUCTIVITY with value and noise with importance. If you're not always active – checking off tasks, reading messages, or doing SOMETHING – you might feel like you're losing progress. However, here, God's command for stillness is not about laziness but about worship.
The Hebrew word rapah means letting go, releasing your grip, and dropping your weapons. It's an act of SURRENDER. When we cease striving, we acknowledge something profound: HE IS GOD, and we’re not. He doesn't need our help to be exalted. He will accomplish His purposes with or without our frantic efforts.
Stillness positions us to hear His VOICE and realigns our perspective. In the silence, we discover that the battles we've fought belong to HIM.
I've been in ministry for many years, and let me share something: there were plenty of times I wanted to fix everything myself. Preach harder, plan better, work longer. But some of the most powerful moments came when I stopped and simply sat before the Lord. No agenda. No requests. Just... stillness.
This verse also reminds us of God's sovereignty over the WORLD. "I will be exalted among the nations." The politics, the wars, the cultural shifts… none of it catches God off guard. He will be exalted in the EARTH. Period. So why are WE so stressed about things beyond our control?
Take a deep breath. Put your phone down for a minute. Be still. Know that He is God. And you? You're His CHILD.

Prayer: Lord, quiet my restless heart today. Forgive me for striving in my own strength. Help me BE STILL and know that You are God. Amen.
