40 MORE Days of Happiness and Joy

FILLED WITH LAUGHTER
Ps 126:1-3
“When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion (Jerusalem), We were like those who dream [it seemed so unreal]. Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us; We are glad!” (AMP)
Imagine how GLAD, how HAPPY, how JOYOUS were the children of Israel to be back home in Jerusalem after their years in captivity. I can’t honestly imagine that, as we don’t have anything in our lives to compare with that experience.
So, temporarily, put yourself in their place. Try to imagine the hardship of being captive in a strange land for 70 years! There is a lack of freedom, privacy, choices, and more. Then, the LORD God delivers them from captivity, and they return to their old home, Jerusalem.
How happy would YOU be?
“Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting;”
I can almost hear that, and I would have helped lead the parade!
You know, we don’t need to wait for things to get so bad (as they did for God’s people back then) before we start to PRAISE God, be JOYFUL to Him, and laugh out loud for the goodness of God! Remember, as a Follower of Jesus, YOU are one of His children, and like most parents, He enjoys seeing His children HAPPY and full of JOY!
Prayer: LORD, I do praise you and rejoice in You. You have filled my life with so much goodness; I just want to say THANK YOU! Amen.
