40 MORE Days of Happiness and Joy
Day 06 | JOY AS WE SLEEP
JOY AS WE SLEEP
Psalm 149:4-5
“For the Lord delights in his people; He crowns the humble with victory. Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.” (NLT)
When was the last time you slept with JOY? Here, Yahweh, our LORD God, is shown “delighting” in His people! Have you ever considered that God may delight in you too?
We don’t often think about God delighting – or being glad – about something. He seems so FAR away and BIG and BUSY.
But somehow, in a way we can’t explain or understand, He KNOWS us, SEES us, WATCHES over us, and can DELIGHT in us. He wants to guide, speak, walk with us (like He did Adam and Eve), and be our Lord, God, and Father.
And with that divine guidance should come – for each of us in Christ – a JOY that lasts the day long and is also included in our sleep time.
Before I hit this computer and started writing this morning, I had breakfast with a long-time, very close friend. He and I talked about how blessed we were with our families, their love for the LORD, and the happiness we feel just watching all our children and grands and their love for one another, Jesus, and their families.
Consider that God wants to be that kind of close Father to you, too. He wants to delight in you, and He wants YOUR JOY to be complete and lasting… today, tomorrow, and the next.
Prayer: LORD God, thank You for knowing me, caring about me, and wanting to guide and bless me, AND make my Joy full and lasting! Amen.
