BE THANKFUL
1 Chronicles 16:34
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
A.W. Tozer – a famous pastor from the past – said: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
So, what do you think about when you think about God?
Here the author of this verse – whom many think may have been Ezra – tells us two of the most important things about Almighty God: that “HE is GOOD” and “His LOVE endures forever.” Therefore – we should “give THANKS to the LORD!”
Nobody I know grew up in a family where one parent or the other didn’t disappoint them in some respect or failed to do something they said they would do. It happens – as parents have imperfections too – just like you and me.
But God – I love those two words – but GOD is NOT a man, God does NOT lie, God does NOT disappoint. “He is GOOD” … all the time. “His LOVE endures” … all the time.
So, the next time you start to doubt, to wonder, to squirm with feelings of fear, doubt or worry… REMEMBER to read this PROMISE and then: “Give thanks to the Lord!”
Pray a prayer of thanksgiving to God. Remember something HE has done for you, some answered prayer, some calming of your spirit, some opening of an important door, some insight and wisdom as to what to do next, some idea that you needed that seemed to come from “out of the blue.” Give the LORD the credit… be thankful and remember: “He is GOOD and His Love endures forever.”
PRAYER: LORD, You are good! Your love is everlasting! And I want to thank You for loving me and being good to me! Amen.
