40 Days of GRACE
Day 34 | GOD'S GRACE IS GREATER THAN OUR MESS-UPS
GOD'S GRACE IS GREATER THAN OUR MESS-UPS

Romans 5:15
“But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.”

Some people have genuine difficulty accepting a gift graciously from another person.  Sometimes, compliments are spurned as the person on the receiving end doesn't feel “worthy” or perhaps doesn't want to feel obligated to the giving person somehow.

Some people are also suspicious of the motive and the implied "quid pro quo" for gifts coming their way, and thus rebuff most others' attempts to give them something.

Now we come to God's gift of GRACE, which He offers freely to all people on earth.
First, we are ALL guilty of the OFFENSE – aka "sin."  Think about it: from the time we are born, we are all self-centered and want our needs and wants fulfilled.  Babies cry to get attention and get what they want.  Children sometimes act out to get attention and occasionally have trouble dealing with a new sibling in the family because of what it will mean to them and their getting what they want.  Then, as we get older, our mischievous actions escalate.

If it were not for the FREE GIFT of Grace provided by God through His Son Jesus, none of us would be saved.

But thankfully, though our mistakes are abundant, "much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many."

God's grace is MUCH MORE than anything we have done or could ever do.

Prayer: LORD God, thank You for supplying that Amazing Grace through the life, death, and resurrection of your Son Jesus. Amen.
