40 Days of WISDOM
Day  1 | THE PERFECT SOURCE OF WISDOM
THE PERFECT SOURCE OF WISDOM

Intro:  We all need to be WISE. In our decisions, our actions, our words, our relationships, our families, and more. The LORD God also desires us to be wise and thus makes His wisdom available to us. For the next 40 days, let’s look at some key verses about Godly wisdom and seek ways to apply them to your life. YOU will be the beneficiary!

Proverbs 2:6-8
“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
(ESV)

As I read this, I am reminded that the LORD God, the Creator of everything, is THE Perfect Source for all wisdom. Yes, people can acquire a limited amount of wisdom, but only the LORD (Yahweh) has ALL wisdom and can be trusted 100% of the time. HE is THE Ultimate Source of wisdom, something we cannot say about ANY person (other than Jesus) – past or present.
Let that sink in.

Today’s many politicians, pundits, activists, and others are trying to tell YOU that they know what’s best for you (human wisdom) and have a plan to solve ALL the world’s problems (mostly theirs as they become richer and more powerful). On the other hand, God’s perfect wisdom is designed to benefit YOU, His child.

Notice: “HE stores up sound wisdom for the upright.” I’m reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:6 “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs!” (NLT) Thus, the LORD God makes His wisdom available for those who walk uprightly before Him. He desires to become like a “shield” and a “guard” for His Saints (those born again). His wisdom is available to us as we walk rightly before Him and ask.

Prayer: LORD God, I acknowledge YOU as the universe’s only ALL-wise source of wisdom. Thank You that I’m one of your children, and you have all that wisdom stored up for me. Amen.
