Day  25 | FRUITY
FRUITY

Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, against which there is no law.”

Imagine for a moment if EVERYONE in the country lived and demonstrated the “fruit of the Spirit” listed here: “love, joy, peace, patience (aka forbearance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Wow! Then to quote that old song, “What a wonderful world, this would be!”

But alas, without the Holy Spirit’s help, it’s just not possible for any person to live like that.   Unfortunately, there are even many “Christians” who don’t demonstrate these FRUITS.

But focusing on JOY for a moment… if one is truly “born again,” he or she should naturally show, feel, and demonstrate JOY, as well as the other fruit of the Spirit. That person – the Believer – has a natural connection to the ONE who can supply us with these fruits.  They don’t have to be asked for… they are provided along with the new birth.  And thus, they should be visible to others as we go about our lives in the world.

Are they?  Are you showing JOY in the world in which you live?  If not, whose fault is it?  (Hint: NOT God’s.)

Understand that the LORD wants you and me – His children – to be joyful and happy and blessed, just as we all want this for our own children.

So again… what’s keeping YOU from experiencing and showing JOY as you live your life?

Are you “plugged-in” to the Power Source (the Holy Spirit)?  Or have you inadvertently kicked the plug out of the wall and so you don’t have the power to let your light shine?

Here’s what you do to reconnect: Ask forgiveness for any wrongs.  Ask Him to fill you with His joy. Then, go about in the knowledge and power that by being JOYFUL, you are being obedient to the LORD.

Prayer: LORD, forgive me for letting my joy diminish.  Forgive me for any wrongs and, as David said in the Psalms, “Restore unto me the JOY of Thy salvation!”  Amen.
