Day  39 | TRUSTING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES
TRUSTING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES

2 Timothy 3:1-5
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these.”

Does this sound like TODAY or what?  How MANY of those “qualities” do you see today?
God’s Word is so helpful by helping us see that WHAT is happening in our world today is nothing new.

“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
(Ecclesiastes 1:9)

Verse 1 is sobering: “in the last days, difficult times will come.”

I feel like we’re there.  One description in that list was: “haters of good.”

Today, more people in this country HATE our faith than since our founding in 1776.  Yet without our Christian faith, there would be NO America.  But those haters don’t care about THAT detail, nor do they care about America at all.  Reminds me of John 10:10, “The thief comes but to kill, steal and destroy.”

So the question is: WHAT do we do?

The only place I know to go for answers to BIG questions like this is God’s Word. What does HE have to say that will help us?

Verses 14-17 say: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Prayer: LORD, help me to continue to pursue YOU and the holy life you want for me.  Lead me to Scriptures that will help me live in this world today.  Amen.
