40 Days of TRUST
Day  37 | TRUST IN HIM ALL THE TIME
TRUST IN HIM ALL THE TIME

Psalm 62:8
“Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.”

“Trust in Him at all times.”
David KNEW the benefit of trusting God at ALL times, so he encouraged others to do the same.  Today, it’s easy to trust Him when you’re in church or a Bible study with friends. But, to trust Him at ALL times – means, for instance – for half the country – even when your candidate didn’t win.  We need to TRUST HIM then too.

David goes on to address a question that many have, and that is: What do I do with my pain, my upset, my worry, my fear, my doubts?

And then King David, looking back over his own life, answers – “Pour out your heart before Him.”

I don’t know when it started, but throughout my life, the prayers I’ve seen and heard the most are the ones when everything is going just fine.  Prayers of thanksgiving, praise, goodness! And those prayers are undoubtedly wonderful!  However, when they pray, MOST people have in their mind somewhere the problems they are facing right then.  David is suggesting – even in private – to “POUR OUT your heart” to God.   I think of 1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast ALL your cares on Him, for He cares for you.”

Finally, David ends with a reminder that God is a refuge, a place of safety, a harbor, for us!  He is there, He knows, He cares, and only HE can provide what we need when we need it.  TRUST in Him at all times.

Prayer: LORD, thank You for being there for me – all the time.  Help me to TRUST in You, not just sometimes, but ALL the time – in good times and not-so-good.  YOU are God, my rock, my fortress, and I need you.  Amen.
