Day  30 | TRUSTING A FAITHFUL GOD
TRUSTING A FAITHFUL GOD

Psalm 107:1, 6-9
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever … ‘Lord, help!’ they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress.  He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live.  Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.  For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

It’s hard to trust someone if you don’t think they are good.

What do you really think about God?  Are you convinced you can trust him, or are you still not sure yet?

Many are not really sure yet, even some church-goers.  Sometimes that lack of trust can be traced to their upbringing where their parents (especially their fathers) were not trustworthy.  It’s amazing how much some people’s upbringing impacts their trust in and relationship to God.

In this Psalm, we see that there were folks in trouble (“distress”) and they cried out to the LORD for help and He led them to a city where they could live safely.

THEN, the psalmist says “Let them praise the LORD for His great love and the wonderful things He has done for them.”

Then for good measure, the Psalmist tells us that “He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

Do you sometimes feel like THAT God isn’t around for you today?  That maybe He hasn’t heard your cries, your frustrations, your fears, your concerns?

Let me encourage you to re-read the above verses.  Remind yourself that “God IS good.”  Remind yourself that “His faithful love endures forever.”

Sometimes, FAITH requires us to believe even BEFORE we can see.

Prayer: LORD, I do believe you are GOOD and that your faithful LOVE endures forever.  Help me LORD to trust in You even before I see the answers to my prayers.  Remind me too that “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.”  (Hebrews 11:1).  Amen.
