Day 28 | GOD WILL CARRY YOU
GOD WILL CARRY YOU

Isaiah 46:3-4
“Listen to me, descendants of Jacob, all you who remain in Israel.
I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime—your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”

We are all growing older. Whether 7 or 97, we are growing older day by day. And in this world, sometimes age works against you.

In some careers and with some companies, when you get to a certain age, retirement is mandatory. It doesn't seem to matter if you can still do the job. "We appreciate your many years of outstanding service; there's the door, here are your things, now go away and take a very long vacation!"

But that is NOT how our Living God treats us.

When God inspired Isaiah to write this, other religions in the land worshipped false gods. And these false, silent, and dead gods (little “g”) needed to be carried.  But our God (BIG “G”) promises to carry US… His people. In fact, He has been carrying us since BEFORE we were born!

Additionally, God never stops loving us, caring about us, or caring for us. He promises here to be our God throughout our lifetime… even into old age when our hair is white! And beyond caring for us and carrying us along in our lives, He will ultimately save us and carry us to heaven when it's our time.

Jesus said similarly in Luke 12:6-7 – "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."

Prayer: LORD, thank You for knowing me and caring for me since before I was born. It's wonderful that You will continue to care for and carry me from here into eternity with You. Amen.
