Day 34 | YOU ARE GOD’S CHILD
YOU ARE GOD’S CHILD
1 John 3:1-2
“See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children—think of it—and we really are! But since most people don’t know God, naturally they don’t understand that we are his children. 2 Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is.” (TLB)
If you ever feel “down” and that no one loves you or cares about you, re-read these verses and let your heart be encouraged!
In this world, we can all feel discouraged about many things. Things can and do change, and often NOT for the better.
But whether the things you care about are the same or are changing, you can count on God to keep His word and treat you as one of His children! He never changes!
Consider that! In Christ, you’re one of HIS children NOW (not just later in heaven). So, what does that mean on a practical level?
It means you can TALK to your Heavenly Father 24/7… And He doesn’t need sleep! You can call Him “Abba Father” – an endearing term, like calling Him “Daddy.” You can ask Him questions, tell Him your problems, and expect Him to give you the answer you need when you need it. (Remember: His timing may be different than yours, but He knows best!)
With all the uncertainty in the world today, knowing that HE loves His children – that He loves YOU – can be a huge encouragement!
Prayer: LORD, when I think about it, it is GREAT that YOU are the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that You love me as one of Your children. Amen.
