THE POWER OF A GROUP

Matthew 18:19-20
“Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”
(AMP)

It's clear from Scripture that we can pray and talk to God by ourselves.  However, there are times when praying WITH another believer or two can be a good thing.

One of the ways a group can be helpful is discerning God's will and praying along those lines.  Sometimes one person – who might be distraught or distracted – NEEDS the help and support of other firm believers who can comfort, guide, and pray along with the one in need.

Here in the book of Matthew, we see that Jesus was teaching His followers about prayer and the importance of praying in harmony and praying in line with the will of God.

God is not trying to hide His will from us, but the Enemy is.  Our spiritual foe is trying everything in his bag of tricks to get us to see things erroneously and to try to get us filled with fear, doubt, and worry.  He does NOT want us to pray in line with God's will.

Being with a group of believers can help us see clearly and put aside all the "wiles" (tricks and manipulations) of the devil as we're taught in Ephesians 6.

I'm reminded again that living the Christian life was never meant to be a solo experience.  We do better together.

Prayer: LORD, help me truly value my Christian brothers and sisters and spend time with them sharing life and praying together in line with Your will.  Amen.
