SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART
Jeremiah 29:11-13
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (NIV)
Do you find this at least a little comforting? That the LORD knows the plans He has for you; and that they are good plans and for your ultimate good?
Verse 11 was the anchor verse the Lord gave me when I came on as pastor of the church I’m at today. It was the encouragement that both the church and I needed at that time. Further, verses 12 and 13 have proved invaluable in seeking HIS face and following HIS plan for us personally and as a church family.
So let me make this more practical for YOU.
Are you worried about the future? Are you feeling hopeless? Are you concerned about what harm might befall you?
Then PRAY to God; tell Him how you feel? Verse 12 says, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”
Remember: the LORD invites each of His children to come and pray to Him… anytime, anywhere about anything. He wants to hear from us like we want to hear from our young children. He wants us to SEEK Him.
Verse 13 in the Amplified version reads this way: “Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
PRAYER: Lord, I do desire to seek you. You are ultimately crucial in my life and my walk with You here in this broken, messed-up world. Help me to call on you and pray to You and then to listen to your calming, all-knowing voice. Amen.
