PEACE AT ALL TIMES

2 Thessalonians 3:16
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.”
(AMP)

I guess we’re all at least a little self-centered. And by that I mean, we think WE are going through tough times, and no one else knows or understands what we’re going through.

Then I read a benediction from the apostle Paul to his church at Thessalonica.  If you read the verses just before this one (a wise principle from my old seminary hermeneutics class), you get the flavor that things were a bit bumpy in the church then too.  Paul had to get on them because some were being downright lazy, which was causing disunity as others had to pull their weight too.

So, I like the way the Amplified version says it, “that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, REGARDLESS of life’s circumstances.”

What are your circumstances?  Got any upset people in your circle?

In the season of life we are all in nowadays, with issues of Covid, unemployment, inflation, the seeming dissolving of our freedoms, and the insecurity of what the future holds… it would be easy – as it was with the Thessalonians – to find reasons to be upset with one another.

And yet… is THAT what the Lord wants; Christians bickering with one another? Does bickering appear attractive to a non-churched person who might be looking for the security of a personal relationship with Jesus?

Re-read the verse above and ask the Lord to help you receive that PEACE – HIS peace – at all times and in every way.

Prayer: LORD, I believe you DO want me to be more peaceful and certainly to get along with other Believers in my circle. Please help me be patient and walk in your peace that passes all understanding… regardless of the circumstances.  Amen.
