Revelation 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me."

Jesus spoke these words to the church that bore His name yet lacked any believers. It was a LUKEWARM, self-satisfied group that had effectively shut Him out. Let that sink in for a moment: Christ stands OUTSIDE the door of His OWN church, knocking. He doesn't force His way in. He calls. He doesn't demand. He WAITS.

The promise of close fellowship – “I will dine with him, and he with Me” – echoes the ancient custom of hospitality, in which sharing a meal signified a DEEP relationship. Jesus doesn't just want ATTENDANCE; He desires COMMUNION. He wants to sit at your table, learn your name, and hear your story. (Yes, He is THAT personal.)

I've been in church nearly my whole life (since age 5!). Here's what I've noticed: it's entirely possible to be ACTIVE in church and DISTANT from Jesus. You can attend services, sing the songs, and smile at others, yet still have the door of your heart SHUT.

Good news: Jesus is PATIENT. He keeps knocking, whether through a sermon, a song, a friend's words, or a verse that jumps off the page. Maybe He's knocking on your heart RIGHT NOW.

Whether you will open the door is the question.

Maybe you've drifted, grown lazy. Maybe life got busy, and Jesus was slowly moved from the CENTER to the CORNER. It happens. But He's still there, still knocking. Not with condemnation, but with INVITATION. "Open up. Let's talk. Let's be CLOSE again."

Quote: "Christ was the doorkeeper of His own house, and He was locked out."
— G.K. Chesterton

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I hear You knocking. I open the door NOW… come in and dine with me. I’m sorry. I desire to make my heart a HOME where You are always welcome. Amen.
