Day 37 | JESUS IS IMMANUEL
JESUS IS IMMANUEL

John 14:9
“Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father.”

Immanuel (from Greek) or Emmanuel (from Hebrew) means: God with us.

Isaiah, the prophet, had much to say about the coming Messiah.

Isaiah 7:14 – “Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Emmanuel.”

Isaiah 9:6 – “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders.  And he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”

Paul also told us this about Jesus:

Colossians 1:15-16 – “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”

Colossians 1:19 – “For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,”

And in Matthew 1:22-23 we read, “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’”  (which means, God with us).

I once read a pastor who said: “Jesus is God’s Selfie.”  ☺

It’s important for us to remember that Jesus on earth was fully God while also being fully man.

As we read Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” – we need to remember: JESUS was there.  He is God, was God and will always be God.  He’s part of the Trinity.  Immanuel… God with us.

Prayer: LORD Jesus, You are God. Thank You for salvation so that I may have a personal relationship with You.  Amen.
