Matthew 6:33
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you." (NASB)

Jesus addresses a COMMON concern: worry about provision. Will I have enough? Can I pay the bills? What about retirement? In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus acknowledges our human worries but REDIRECTS our focus.

"Seek FIRST" implies ORDER. It means putting God's Kingdom at the TOP of your priority list… not near the bottom, after the mortgage and the vacation. FIRST. Jesus teaches us that when we put God first, everything else finds its proper place.

Notice what He says: “All these things will be PROVIDED to you." That's the language of a caring Father who meets His children's needs. The promise isn't lavish wealth; it’s SUFFICIENT provision. "All these things" refers to the basic necessities Jesus just described… food, clothing, and shelter. God isn't promising you a mansion. He's promising you won't STARVE. (Though honestly, many of us already have FAR more than the basics, right?)

I remember a time years ago when money was really tight. We were tempted to give less and hold on to what little we had, but we decided to keep giving and seek God's Kingdom first. And you know what? God PROVIDED… not always in the way we expected, but ALWAYS.

When we make God's Kingdom our primary pursuit, material concerns don't disappear… they SHRINK and take their proper place.

So here's the question: What are you seeking FIRST? Where you put your time, money, and energy first reveals what you're TRULY seeking.

Quote: "Put first things first, and we get second things thrown in: put second things first, and we lose both the first and second things."
— C.S. Lewis

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to prioritize seeking Your Kingdom in my life.  Free me from worry and anchor my heart in ETERNAL things.  Amen.
