Day 32 | WHO CAN EVER PRAISE HIM ENOUGH?
WHO CAN EVER PRAISE HIM ENOUGH?
Psalm 106:1-3
“Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.” (NLT)
Have you ever had someone do you personally a HUGE favor? I mean HUGE. The once-in-a-lifetime huge, improved-your-life-immeasurably huge, or saved-you-from-destruction huge. Did you feel mega-gratitude toward that person (or group) for that HUGE action that helped you or saved your life or something similar? Are you still feeling thankful?
The problem with most of us in our rapidly moving society is that we tend to have short memories. We too quickly forget the favors that someone does for us. Being thankful grows old and tiresome, even if it was “MEGA.”
And that’s too bad because that HUGE act of kindness deserves to never be forgotten. (Even little acts of kindness by others should not be overlooked, but that’s another discussion.)
Consider salvation. EASY for us to receive, NOT EASY for Jesus to provide.
In our verses today, the psalmist remembers the attributes of God that are especially praiseworthy and extraordinary, especially in light of Israel’s historic pattern of sin.
Our God IS good. He is ever faithful to love us. “WHO can ever praise Him enough?” (Very applicable today too.)
Remember: God NEVER asks us to do anything in His Word that is not ultimately for OUR benefit and HIS glory.
Verse 3 reminds us – “There is JOY for those who deal justly with others AND always do what is right.”
How’s your joy? Low? Then review that verse and DO IT. It’s a promise from God to us. No wonder the psalmist wrote: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!”
Prayer: LORD God, forgive me for not regularly telling You how grateful I am for your total forgiveness, salvation, the promise of eternal life, and the other thousands of things You do for me. I can never praise You enough. Amen.
