The POWER of 10
Day 33 | REJOICE!

REJOICE!
Philippians 4:4
“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, Rejoice!”
What an incredibly happy, upbeat verse, perhaps the most joyful verse in the Bible!
Rejoice is defined as giving joy or feeling incredible delight… or triumph, exult, exuberate, jubilate, and more.
I’ve often quoted: “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)
Then I say – to rejoice is a choice.
No matter what, we can find something to rejoice over. If you are doing well in life, rejoice (and give thanks) to God about that! If you are not doing well, rejoice in the Lord and give thanks that you are one of His children! We can also ALWAYS be joyful that the LORD is in control – always.
Paul’s circumstances when writing to the church at Philippi was that he was under house arrest and waiting for his court appearance before Caesar in approximately 61 A.D. And even though
Paul was probably physically miserable (house arrest was not like having to stay home from school or work one day because you’re under the weather), Paul was still cheerful and used every available means – such as writing letters – to reach out and minister to his people.
In America today, people can get mad and upset at the drop of a hat. Let the signal turn red, and the car in front of them does NOT race through the turning red light, can cause some people to blow a cork. Plan a big outdoor party and let it start to rain can drive some people up the wall. And yet in many places in the world, they would be overjoyed to (a) have a car to drive or (b) be a part of a party of any type.
You see, REJOICING is a matter of perspective. You and I can, and should, always rejoice and show our thanksgiving to the LORD for ALL He has done and is doing for us, His children.
Prayer: LORD, forgive me for not rejoicing more often. You deserve ALL my praise. Amen.
