The POWER of 10
Day  4 | INSPIRATION OF SCRIPTURE
INSPIRATION OF SCRIPTURE

2 Timothy 3:16
“All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching…”
(NASB)

We believe that God inspires all Scripture in our Bibles. “Inspired” in the Greek is “theopneustos,” which means “God-breathed.”  We see Scripture (the Bible) as being breathed out on us by God, and in it, God communicates to us and that communication is beneficial to our lives.

The Bible is unique. Written over a 1500-year period of time by some 40 authors, few of whom knew any other writers of Scripture. And yet, there is a common thread of the story of God and man that the writers provide from Genesis to Revelation.

And those authors could do that because the Spirit of God led them to write what they did.

The fabulous result of reading, studying, and doing the Word of God is:
“… so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.”  (2 Timothy 3:17, NASB)

One key to learning and benefiting from the Bible (aka Scripture or Word of God) is recognizing the Source is God and thus acting on what you hear or read.

“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.” (James 1:22-24, MSG)

God’s Word CAN benefit us, unlike ANY other writing that has been or will ever be. It is from God, inspired, and for OUR benefit.

Prayer: LORD, thank You for Your Word, a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Help me to find ways to apply Your Word to my life consistently. Amen.
