40 Reasons God DELIGHTS in YOU

YOU ARE HIS HEIR
Galatians 4:6-7
“And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ‘Abba, Father.’ Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.” (NASB)
Have you ever received an inheritance? What is that exactly? Well, an inheritance is receiving something (of VALUE) that belonged to your parents (or aunt, uncle, or whomever) earned and bought, but now – since they have passed away – they have named YOU to receive it as a gift.
Did you earn it? No. Did you deserve it? No. Did you choose to receive it? No. But they – out of kindness – decided that YOU should receive it, that something they picked specifically for YOU.
In the same way, when we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we become children of God. God becomes like our “daddy” (Abba Father), and His plan is for us to have an inheritance since we are his heir. ALL that He has prepared for us will be available to us.
Jesus told his disciples in John 14:2-3, “In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be.” (NASB)
Zig Ziglar used to say, “You know, the Father’s house that He has prepared for us has got to be beyond anything we can imagine as HE has access to all the best building materials in the universe!”
You have an inheritance. You didn’t earn it or deserve it – but you WILL receive this free gift for just being a child of God!
Prayer: LORD, thank You for ALL you have done for me, are doing for me, and will continue to do for me – because YOU love me. And Lord, I love you too. Amen.
