40 Days of PEACE
Day 14 | THE LORD’S APPROVAL | Judges 18:6
THE LORD’S APPROVAL

Judges 18:6
“The priest said to them, ‘Go in peace; your way in which you are going has the Lord’s approval.’”

In the Old Testament times, we read about many a people of God inquiring of the priest as to whether or not to GO to such and such a place or to DO this or that. And that’s what’s happening here. The men of the tribe of Dan were going to meet with the men of the tribe of Levi. And they went to the priest, who then shared “Go in peace” and that the LORD approved of their plan.

Today we have it easier to talk to the LORD and don’t have to go through a priest.  We can come “boldly before the throne” at any time. And yet, many people, even many Christians, don’t talk much with God (so surveys says).

When it comes to peace, we might first ask: “Does the LORD want me to have His peace?”  (The answer to that would be YES!)

Then we might ask, “Do I have to do something to receive His peace?” (Another YES!)
The finally, “WHAT is it I have to do?”

And my answer would be, spend more time with the LORD and in His Word.

Now that answer may seem pat and trite, but I believe it is true.  The reality is, I do not know what is going on in your life and circumstances, so I could hardly advise you as to WHAT you need to do today to better position your life to receive and live in God’s peace. BUT, our God DOES know you – inside and out – and has the answers you need.

Prayer: LORD, help me to turn to YOU for the answers I seek and need.  Help me to develop a habit of seeking You FIRST.  Amen.
