PEACE OR CONFUSION?

1 Corinthians 14:33
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”

The church at Corinth was having problems in their church services… so Paul wrote this verse in his letter to that church.

I was pondering how confused the world seems today. To a greater degree it seems than even the Corinthian church when Paul wrote this; today's world seems very upside down and inside out. What was once accepted as WRONG, is now accepted as RIGHT.  What was once praised is now condemned. What was once normal behavior has been ostracized.

And then I think about GOD.

He is not confused.  He has not changed His mind. What He said was wrong in the past – is still wrong. What He said was GOOD in the past, is still GOOD.

And why? Because our “God is not a God of confusion, but of peace.”

So, let me ask: Are there parts of your life today that seem confused, messed up, or out of joint?  Are you wondering how to make all the parts of your life make sense in a world that seems to be falling apart?

Then I have the answer! And that answer is… look to the LORD God and HIS Word, do life the way He says, and then hold tight.

Now, that advice may be met with laughter and ridicule by many today, which is why I'm sharing it with YOU, faithful friend and reader of these devotional writings.

As the Scripture also says, "He who has ears, let him hear."

And may we all be DOERS of the Word and not hearers only.

Prayer: LORD, I need your help to make sense of life today.  Lead me to the Scriptures that speak to my specific needs and questions.  Thank you for WHO You are! Amen.
