40 Days of PEACE
Day 7 | Perfect Peace | Isaiah 26:3

Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3
“Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee.”
What does your garage look like? Or maybe your closet? Or perhaps a junk drawer? I’ll bet that one of those is, well, messy.
Most people seem to have at least some area of clutter in their lives. You can even drive through some neighborhoods and find some properties that are messy. Maybe an old, dilapidated car in the yard, a pile of “stuff” waiting to be taken to the local dump, a broken garage door, and so on.
The point is… messiness is common.
Now let’s think about our thinking. It can become messy too. Many people overload their minds with messy stuff. In times past, it was a problem… and still is today. With ALL the internet connectivity, 24/7 newscasts, and people happily sharing their complaints and opinions about everything on places like Facebook, Twitter, and so on, we are bombarded with STUFF to think about.
And therein lies the problem: Too much stuff to think about. Too much negativity affecting us. Too much messiness in our brains.
Everyone wants peace; at least I can’t think of anyone I know who doesn’t!
And then we come to these inspired words of Isaiah, “…whose mind is stayed on Thee…”
That’s the KEY. Keeping our minds “stayed” – focused – on the LORD God… thinking about Him, worshiping Him, and singing praises to His name.
And by doing that (keeping our minds on HIM), we build our TRUST in God to do ALL that He has promised in His Word to do.
Read this verse over a couple more times. Then, do it.
Prayer: LORD, I do want to have more peace in my life, and I agree that my mind is messy. Help me to keep my mind and my thoughts centered on You every day. Amen.
