Day 37 | Our Refuge | Nahum 1:7
Our Refuge
Nahum 1:7
“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.”

Troubles come, don’t they?  Not just to you, but to EVERYONE on the planet.

The Scripture teaches that the rain falls on the just and the unjust.

So here on this planet, there are good times… and there are troubled times.  That is just how it is. Some seem to have MORE than their fair share of one or the other, but that’s not my business or care.  What you and I care about is what happens when troubles come OUR way?

This PROMISE gives us the answer: “The LORD is our refuge in times of trouble.”

The dictionary defines “refuge” as: a shelter or protection from danger or distress.

And why can we count on the LORD to be our shelter, our protection from danger or distress?
Because “He cares for those who trust in Him.”

Telling someone to “trust the LORD” is easy to say. But for some people, their trust of ANYONE is low and trusting God can be hard.

That’s where the Scriptures come in handy.  Reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) or reading the Psalms and Proverbs can help strengthen your TRUST in Almighty God.

The Gospels tell us about the life of Jesus.  The Psalms focus on our relationship to the LORD and Proverbs… God’s plan for our relationships with one another.

Remember this verse from the prophet Nahum:  “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.”

Prayer: LORD, thank you for being there for me, being my refuge, my protection and my ROCK.  I do trust in You and want to Thank You for ALL you do for me. Amen.
