Psalm 118:24
“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
When we read these words, there’s a quiet invitation that reverberates through centuries: each sunrise is a fresh canvas painted by God Himself. In the midst of life’s relentless pace – work deadlines, family responsibilities, global headlines – it’s easy to let the day slip by unnoticed, merely a backdrop for our to-do lists. Yet the Psalmist reminds us that the very fabric of the day is woven by the Creator’s hand, and therefore it carries an intrinsic worth beyond our agendas.
Consider the original Hebrew word yom… a “day” that is whole, complete, and bounded. It isn’t just a 24-hour segment; it’s a purposeful unit of divine intention.
