Day 21 | SALVATION BY GRACE

SALVATION BY GRACE
Ephesians 2:8-9
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
One of the KEYS to a satisfying life, an “abundant life,” is salvation. To be forgiven for all sin – past/present/future – and to realize that you have eternal life because you are now a child of God!
Salvation is the one thing that EVERY human on the planet needs… to be in right standing with Almighty God, the Creator of the universe.
And that salvation comes to us NOT by anything we have done, but by the desire and decision of God who gives it by His GRACE.
“God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense” was how I learned to define GRACE when I was young. But the truth of the matter is that God did NOT have to show us His grace… but He did. Not because we deserved it (which we don’t) but because of His great LOVE for us.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
So, ponder this: since there is NOTHING that you or I could do to warrant God’s GRACE and His free gift of salvation to anyone who calls upon the name of the LORD… how should we respond to the gift-giver?
Let’s put it in people terms: assume that someone – a rich uncle? – Gifts you a billion dollars. How would you feel? What kind of “thank you” would you give that uncle? How long would you keep thanking him?
So, consider this: the GIFT OF GRACE – salvation – is WAY more valuable than anything we could possibly receive from a “rich uncle.” What kind of “thank you” have you given God for that gift? And how long will you keep thanking Him?
Prayer: LORD God, You deserve ALL my praise and thanksgiving – every day – for the rest of my life and into eternity with you in heaven. Thank you!! Amen.
