Day 12 | RENEW YOUR STRENGTH

RENEW YOUR STRENGTH
Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (KJV)
Little kids are funny. Most children – of a variety of ages – will play and play and play, and when mom says it’s time to go to bed, will argue that “I’m not tired …” until they fall asleep on the couch or the floor. Or, if they’re older, stay up and then complain when it’s time to get up the next morning. Moms tend to know their children very well and are usually right about these things.
God knows us very well too and, compared to Him, we’re all little children. We need REST, but we often fight it, ignore it, and won’t admit that we’re tired and weary. There’s usually no human mom or dad telling us to get some rest, and God speaks in a “still small voice,” so many just ignore it.
The Prophet Isaiah got this message from God and shared it. “They that WAIT upon the Lord…” (Or trust or hope in some translations.)
The issue is: RENEWING our strength… to the point where we can again SOAR with eagles and WALK and not be WEARY.
Consider the picture that God is painting here. Then ask, HOW do we “wait upon the Lord"? (or trust or hope)
I suggest we not be passive, but I do see renewal, or “recharging” (like rechargeable batteries) coming to us from Him as we actively SEEK Him and rely on Him instead of ourselves.
THEN, we will (1) be able to SOAR above all the other “stuff” going on; (2) RUN and not be weary, and (3) WALK the walk of a Follower of Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, once again, thank YOU for providing a way for me to recharge in life and rest in You. Guide me and lead me for Your honor and glory. Amen.
