Day 11 | UNIFYING LOVE
UNIFYING LOVE

Colossians 3:14
“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

We live in a world, in a nation, that is deeply divided. Of course, there have always been political differences. However, in the past decade, the rancor seems more strident, and people who disagree with anything seem angrier and more ready to be violent than at any time I can remember. And we who are striving to follow Jesus need to be asking: Lord, what do You want me to do? How do you want me to live?

Here, the Holy Spirit leads Paul – who was in prison as he wrote this letter to the church at Colossi – to reaffirm the teaching of Jesus (“Love one another”) in a practical way.

The local church is an amazing “creation” of the Lord’s. A place where we, Followers of Jesus, gather to worship, to learn, to rub shoulders with one another, to share our hopes, our joys, our pains, to encourage one another … to do life together.

Electric Vehicles are catching on worldwide, but all cars – EV or gas – need recharging or refilling from time to time.  We Christians need refilling, too.   That’s – in part – why the church exists. The Lord knew that as long as we are on THIS side of heaven we need each other, and we need “recharging.”  And getting together regularly – like at church – is the way we learn, worship, grow, fellowship, and recharge.

So next week, when you’re (hopefully) in church, remember that LOVE binds all Believers together in perfect unity. Make sure you speak to someone there joyously. You’ll never know if perhaps that person needs some joy, some love, some encouragement to face whatever it is they are facing. You can make a difference.

Prayer: LORD, help me to make a positive difference everywhere I go, for your glory and honor. Amen.
