Day 09 | WE ARE TO WALK BY FAITH

WE ARE TO WALK BY FAITH
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith and not by sight.”
Do you have a nickname? Mine was Jimmy as I was growing up. But how would you have liked to be known as "Doubting Thomas?" That nickname STUCK, and when we see Thomas in heaven, we might discuss it further. :-)
But if you feel BETTER than ol’ Thomas, today's Scripture should be a challenge with an implied question to ask yourself: "Am I really living my life by FAITH in God, or do I have more of a 'show me first' attitude?"
Walking by faith is one of the great – and difficult – principles of Christian living. To “walk by faith” means to make FAITH a daily habit and to believe in a future we cannot yet see.
Missouri is called the "show me" state. I think ALL non-Christians are secretly saying "show-me" when it comes to the reality of God and Jesus Christ. Yet, many Believers struggle similarly in their prayers and trust in God. They struggle (remember I said it was difficult) to “WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT.”
Just as we sometimes start a new plant in a small pot and grow it to the point where it can be planted outside, we need to grow our faith too.
So, HOW do you strengthen or grow your faith? (That's a BOOK in itself!) Reading these devotionals and spending time in God's Word can help GROW your faith. Attending church regularly and participating in the fellowship and the worship are also keys. Remember: the LORD wants your faith to be strong and mature.
Prayer: LORD, help me grow my faith every time I read Your Word, attend church, or spend time with other Believers. Thank You, amen.
