HOW DO YOU ADDRESS THE CREATOR OF EVERYTHING?
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
For millennia, humanity has theorized about the origin of the universe, as everyone believes it had a beginning. The “Big Bang” seems to be currently the most widely accepted theory (meaning it is unproven) among most scientists. But of course, any discussion of creation should include (from my point of view) an inclusion of the possibility of GOD being the answer. I’m okay with the “Big Bang” theory, but such a bang requires a “Big Banger” … that all-powerful Someone who caused that bang or pushed the “button.” And the best answer as to WHO that Someone was… is God.
So, when you consider that we can talk (pray) to that Eternal Being – God – I ask: How should we address the One who “created the heavens and the earth”?
This brings me to a point I’ve accepted over the years: He’s God, and we’re not. He is the Creator, the All-Powerful One, the Master Designer of the universe, and it’s only by His GRACE and kindness that He even allows us insignificant people (compared to the entire universe) to talk to Him in prayer.
So, how do you address that kind of Eternal Being? With sincerity, honesty, love, humility… and with much gratitude for just being able to PRAY to Him.
So, the next time you pray, remember WHO you’re talking to: Almighty God, Creator of ALL the heavens and the earth. Be grateful, be humbled, be sincere, and be joyful!
Prayer: Lord God, thank you for the privilege of knowing you and praying to You. Amen.
