Day 04 | TRUST, DELIGHT, COMMIT (Part 1)

TRUST, DELIGHT, COMMIT (Part 1)
Psalm 37:3
“TRUST in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” (NLT)
The key word here is the word “TRUST.” The Bible dictionary defines TRUST as: assured and confident reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.
Trust in God is a recurring theme throughout the Bible. In this verse, God’s people are to do TWO things: (1) TRUST in the Lord and (2) do good.
Consider that we today, as followers of Christ, are also supposed to do both: “TRUST and DO GOOD.”
It seems to me that there are some non-Christians today have had a “bad experience” with Christians and use that as an excuse as to WHY they don’t want to join them in believing in Jesus Christ. How sad… that any of us would so treat another person – Believer or not – in a poor way, remembering that every person you meet is made in the image of God (Genesis 1) and thus deserves to be treated well.
We are to “TRUST in the Lord AND do good,” which could mean a variety of things. In our church, we support multiple non-profits who help the hungry, the homeless, disaster victims and so on. This is one way we, together, are doing good.
Keep your eyes open and look for ways to “do good” to the people around you.
Prayer: LORD, I trust in You and I do wish to be one who does good to others. For Your glory, Amen.
