GOD TRULY KNOWS YOU
Luke 12:6-8
“What is the price of five sparrows? A couple of pennies? Not much more than that. Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And he knows the number of hairs on your head! Never fear, you are far more valuable to him than a whole flock of sparrows. 'And I assure you of this: I, the Messiah, will publicly honor you in the presence of God’s angels if you publicly acknowledge me here on earth as your Friend.'”
Do you ever feel alone? Ever feel as though no one knows what’s going on, no one has a clue as to what you’re thinking, and no one knows your problems, issues, or challenges?
In today’s Scripture, Jesus dispels that “no one knows or cares about me” attitude and feeling that some have from time to time. The Lord makes it crystal clear that HE knows YOU, even to the point of knowing exactly how many hairs are on your head (this week)! (And by the way, science tells us that a healthy person normally has between 80,000 and 120,000 hairs on their head.)
So, if there are 8 Billion people on the planet today, with an average of 100,000 hairs per head, that means the Lord is keeping track of… well, a LOT of hairs!
What this tells me, again, is how absolutely amazing and so different from us is our Lord God Almighty!
And… He loves you! And He wants to honor, in the presence of the angels in heaven, ALL who will publicly acknowledge the Messiah here on earth as our Friend. (Reminds me of that song chorus: “I am a friend of God … He calls me friend!”)
Prayer: Father God, thank You for knowing me, caring about me, and loving me. Remind me every time I start to wallow in self-pity of ALL you do for me and all Your care for me. Amen.
