A PRAYER OF MOSES
Psalm 90:14
“Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love. Then we will shout for joy and be happy all our days.” (NET)
This is the one psalm written by our Old Testament friend, Moses. It is the oldest one that we have in our Bibles.
I selected this verse because it is something each of us could say daily! Our God DOES love us.
Consider John 3:16, “For God so loved the world” or Lamentations 3:22, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases” or 1 John 4:7, “Beloved let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” Then there’s Psalm 136:1, “Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, His steadfast love endures forever” and 1 John 4:16, “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in them.”
So, ALL OF THESE Scriptures are consistent with what Moses wrote and confirms that – even 1500 or so years later (the approximate time between Psalm 90 and 1 John) – God is the same! He is FULL OF LOVE and that should make us shout for JOY and be HAPPY all of our days too!
Tomorrow when you get out of bed, I suggest you re-read Moses’ verse above and let it fill you with JOY as you start your day. Just that little step can make a BIG difference in your day.
Prayer: LORD God, I am so thankful that YOU never change and that YOU are LOVE and want us – Your children – to be full of love, happiness, joy, and all the fruit of the Spirit. Thank You, Amen.
